Why I Built This Site

The Problem

When I first decided to try StarCraft 2’s ranked ladder, I was overwhelmed. Not by the game itself — by the sheer volume of advice, guides, and opinions scattered across YouTube, Reddit, TeamLiquid, and Discord servers. Everyone had a different opinion on what to learn first, which B2GM series to follow, and whether you should even bother with ladder as a beginner.

I spent more time researching how to play than actually playing.

What I Wished Existed

I wanted one place that would:

  • Compare B2GM series honestly — not just “this one is good,” but why it’s good, who it’s good for, and what it won’t teach you
  • Normalize the struggle — tell me it’s OK to be Bronze, OK to lose, OK to feel overwhelmed
  • Give me a clear first step — not ten options, just one: “Start here”
  • Feel welcoming — not another esports site designed for Diamond players

That site didn’t exist. So I’m building it.

Who This Is For

MetalToMasters is for the player who’s been watching StarCraft content for months but hasn’t clicked “Find Match” yet. It’s for the Bronze player who thinks they’re the only one who still gets supply blocked at 5 minutes. It’s for anyone who’s ever thought “I’m too bad for this game.”

You’re not. And you’re not alone.

What’s Coming

This site is a work in progress. Here’s what I’m building:

  • B2GM Comparison Hub — Side-by-side reviews of the most popular Bronze-to-GM series
  • Getting Started Guide — Everything a new player needs in one page
  • Honest Blog Posts — My real experiences on ladder, wins and losses included
  • Community Resources — Links to tournaments, coaching, and communities for lower-league players

The Goal

I want to help grow the SC2 player base. Not by convincing people the game is easy — it’s not — but by showing them there’s joy at every level. Bronze league is fun. Silver league is fun. The climb itself is the reward.

If this site helps even one person click “Find Match” for the first time, it was worth building.

See you on the ladder.
